About The Position

Under general direction, is responsible for assisting with the management of a competitive NCAA Division I women’s basketball program; assists with conditioning, practices, recruiting, and travel arrangements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of women’s basketball concepts/strategies and NCAA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of physical conditioning techniques and weight training
• Knowledge of basic statistics
• Recruiting skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal/human relations skills
• Organizational/planning skills
• Leadership and motivational skills
• Ability to assess athletic talent
• Ability to serve as a positive role model
• Bachelor’s degree, supplemented with two (2) years of playing/coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.

Responsibilities

• Assists head coach in running team practices; oversees practices; provides group and one-on-one instruction; assists with player development; remains informed about student-athletes' academic progress.
• Performs recruiting-related activities: contacts high school players through written or verbal communication; travels to various high schools to scout games; assesses the skills and abilities of potential student-athletes; provides feedback to the head coach.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
