About The Position

The purpose of the role is to use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves. These insights will be leveraged to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization. The Assistant Vice President will advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. This role involves collaborating closely with other functions and business divisions, leading a team performing complex tasks, and coaching employees. For an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, identify the need for other specializations, and identify new directions for assignments or projects. They will also consult on complex issues, provide advice to People Leaders, identify ways to mitigate risk, and develop new policies/procedures. This role requires taking ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls, understanding how different areas coordinate to achieve organizational objectives, and collaborating with business-aligned support areas to stay updated on business activity and strategy. The role involves complex analysis of data from multiple sources, creative problem-solving, and communicating complex information effectively to influence stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Identification, collection, extraction of financial, market and other business intelligence data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to identify and analyze patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
