The purpose of the role is to provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain. This involves applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimize trading and investment opportunities. The Assistant Vice President will advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. They will collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions, and if leading a team, will set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes. For individual contributors, they will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, identify the need for other specializations, and identify new directions for assignments or projects. They will also consult on complex issues, provide advice to People Leaders, identify ways to mitigate risk, develop new policies/procedures, and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls. The role requires understanding how different areas coordinate and contribute to organizational objectives, collaborating with business-aligned support areas to stay updated on business activity and strategy. It involves complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively, and communicating complex information, which may include sensitive or difficult-to-communicate content, to influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
