About The Position

The purpose of the role is to provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain. This involves applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimize trading and investment opportunities. The Assistant Vice President will advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. They will collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions, and if leading a team, will set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes. For individual contributors, they will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, identify the need for other specializations, and identify new directions for assignments or projects. They will also consult on complex issues, provide advice to People Leaders, identify ways to mitigate risk, develop new policies/procedures, and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls. The role requires understanding how different areas coordinate and contribute to organizational objectives, collaborating with business-aligned support areas to stay updated on business activity and strategy. It involves complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively, and communicating complex information, which may include sensitive or difficult-to-communicate content, to influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.   • Experience supporting trading desks in analytics requirements relating to pricing and risk management tools.

  • Experience working with stakeholders of securitized products analytics (market risk managers, model risk management, finance, product controls, technology teams).
  • Experience ensuring consistency and compliance to standards for analytics code and delivery.
  • Experience working on Securitized Products analytics and model documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customized solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
  • Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments.
  • Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain analytics and models for securitized products in the context of standardizing scenario definitions to support full revaluation in the VAR and Stress testing risk management applications for Securitized products.
  • Support all Securitized Products and Finance trading desks in support analytics requirements relating to pricing and risk management tools.
  • Work closely with other QA teams engaged with Market and Credit risk in creating requirements and supporting their needs for analytics, modelling or coordinating with other teams to help solve a problem.
  • Work with stakeholders of securitized products analytics, including market risk managers, model risk management, finance, product controls, and technology teams on testing and delivery of analytics and models.
  • Work with other teams within the broader organization of QA to ensure the consistency and compliance to the standards established for analytics code and delivery of analytics.
  • Work on Securitized Products analytics and model documentation to ensure compliance with model risk regulatory requirements.
