About The Position

The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing and implementing an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. This role involves ensuring compliance with all school policies, fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, and promoting self-direction and self-motivation. The coach will exhibit comprehensive knowledge of volleyball, adapt instruction to individual needs, and maintain an organized athletic program with effective planning and delivery techniques. The position also requires assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment.

  • Prior coaching experience preferred.

  • Create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the sport or area being coached, ensuring effective instruction and guidance for student athletes.
  • Effectively adapt instruction of strategy and fundamentals to align with the individual needs, abilities, and interests of student-athletes.
  • Develop and sustain an organized athletic program guided by well structured, long term planning.
  • Demonstrate effective planning and organization while employing a diverse range of appropriate strategies and resources to enhance student athlete development.
  • Clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations to student athletes and explain their significance for personal, athletic, and academic growth.
  • Utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
  • Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
