This position is in-office. None of our positions are commission based or involve cold calling.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of specialized field or area, sometimes acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 7 years of job-related experience
  • Must have current P&C license
  • Developed understanding of risk selection and coverage
  • Knowledge of principles and methods involved in selling services including marketing strategies and tactics and sales techniques
  • Ability to travel when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Transportation experience preferred, but not required
  • Excess casualty experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a point of communication with the Production Team, including providing coverage and program design advice and expertise
  • Provides brokers with knowledge about markets and products as they relate to classes of business
  • Assists Broker in client and underwriter meetings as requested
  • Assists Broker in leadership of the Production Team serving as a first line of defense in administrative matters as well as production/servicing needs
  • Prepares and submits proposals to carriers for complex or hard-to-place accounts
  • Negotiates with carriers for the best program for clients
  • Oversees preparation of draft proposals
  • Oversees preparation and finalization of Carrier and Client coverage confirmations
  • Maintains strong relationships with key carriers in the Strategic Market
  • Assists in the training of Associate Brokers and Marketing Brokers
