Start your Voyage – Get to Know the Opportunity Collaborate with senior analysts and portfolio managers to source and manage asset-based finance investments for client portfolios across the full investment lifecycle—from origination and underwriting through execution and ongoing monitoring.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree; CFA Designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of capital markets experience at an investment bank, asset manager, or buy-side institution; specific experience in structured finance and asset-based finance is required.
  • Demonstrated credit analysis skills, including the ability to assess the creditworthiness, structure, investment merits and key risks of asset-based and structured finance transactions.
  • Advanced data analysis and structured finance modeling skills are essential, including Excel-based cash flow and scenario modeling; Python programming experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of transaction documentation, covenant frameworks, structural protections, and creditor remedies across private credit and structured finance transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex investment analyses and recommendations clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AI-enabled tools and their effective application to investment analysis and operational workflows, including appropriate controls, validation, governance and human oversight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex transactions and multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles including U.S. GAAP and IFRS, as well as their application to credit analysis.
  • Commercially oriented and proactive, with the ability to engage effectively with issuers, borrowers, sponsors, advisors, transaction counterparties, and institutional clients.
  • Intellectually curious and collaborative, with sound judgment, a high degree of initiative, and a strong commitment to client service and team success.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, underwrite, and execute private credit, structured finance, and alternative investment opportunities, including screening new transactions, assessing relative value, and formulating investment recommendations.
  • Review and analyze data including collateral tapes, financial statements and other underlying asset-level information to assess credit quality and investment risk.
  • Lead transaction due diligence and execution, coordinating with issuers, sponsors, investment banking advisors, counsel, and internal stakeholders to manage timelines and drive transactions through closing.
  • Negotiate key economic, structural, and documentation terms with issuers, sponsors, and their advisors.
  • Develop and analyze financial models, including cash flow forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and stress scenarios, to support underwriting and investment decisions.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations, underwriting analyses, and diligence findings to senior members of the Private Credit group and Investment Committee.
  • Collaborate across investment teams to share market insights, underwriting perspectives, and lessons learned to support investment decision-making and portfolio management.
  • Monitor financial performance and credit quality of private credit assets, including compliance with deal triggers and covenants.
  • Maintain regular communication with borrowers, sponsors, servicers, agents, and other transaction counterparties.
  • Support ongoing portfolio management activities, including funding requests, investor reporting, and responses to ad hoc client requests.
  • Maintain complete and accurate investment records, transaction documentation, and monitoring materials for assigned portfolio assets.
  • Evaluate amendment and waiver requests in coordination with senior investment professionals and legal counsel; prepare recommendations and obtain required approvals.
  • Conduct ongoing research and monitoring of borrowers, industries, and asset classes to identify emerging risks, market developments, and investment opportunities.
  • Partner with Portfolio Management, Operations, and Technology teams to develop and enhance tools, processes, and reporting capabilities that improve investment monitoring and the capture of key transaction terms and risks.
