We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to join our Commercial Lines New Business team on a Hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of commercial lines insurance experience, with strong working knowledge of Property, Casualty, and Workers' Compensation coverages required.
  • Prior experience in a new business, marketing, or sales-support role within a brokerage or agency environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex account submissions and produce high-quality, client-ready proposal materials.
  • Familiarity with loss-sensitive and alternative risk structures (SIRs, retro rating) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Active P&C broker's license required.
  • CPCU designation or progress toward it is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to craft and deliver presentations to senior decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical ability and strategic thinking; comfortable working through complex risk and pricing data.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with agency management systems a plus.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with the professional presence and credibility to operate as a trusted advisor to both producers and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Producers throughout the sales cycle to qualify opportunities, define strategy, and advance prospects from initial engagement to bind.
  • Gather and assess underwriting information from prospects and clients; prepare complete, accurate submissions for insurance market consideration, including ACORD applications, exposure spreadsheets, and coverage specifications.
  • Develop polished, persuasive insurance proposals — including executive summaries, pricing and exposure comparisons, terms and conditions summaries, and supporting deal materials tailored to each prospect's priorities.
  • Articulate the HUB value proposition clearly and compellingly in prospect meetings, positioning HUB's capabilities against the competition.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and coverage solutions directly to prospects; lead consultative conversations that address risk needs and close new business.
  • Apply working knowledge of loss analysis, self-insured retentions (SIRs), retrospective rating, and loss-sensitive program structures to account activity as appropriate.
  • Manage the timing and information flow across multiple active sales opportunities simultaneously; maintain clear, proactive communication with Producers and senior leadership on pipeline status and deal progression.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriting contacts at key insurance carriers to support placement strategy and competitive positioning.
