About The Position
Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season. This role involves supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director, and other coaching staff. The season is scheduled to begin in March and conclude in May, with potential for postseason participation. The position includes a seasonal stipend of $2,000, prorated for coaches starting after the official season start.
Requirements
- Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Nice To Haves
- Student-athlete experience on the high school and/or intercollegiate level
- Prior high school coaching experience
- USATF certification
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Playing experience
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
- Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
- Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
- Must possess effective coaching skills and knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- High level of personal organization and planning
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
