About The Position

Cole Valley Christian is seeking a spiritually mature Varsity Softball Assistant Coach who loves the Lord Jesus and wants to serve as part of a unified Christian school faculty and coaching staff. The position supports the Head Coach in developing student-athletes through athletics, skill instruction, and discipleship. The coach is expected to model a strong relationship with Christ and help students grow toward their potential and impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Requirements

• A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
• A desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
• Spiritual maturity with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Previous coaching staff experience at the high school or collegiate level and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.

Nice To Haves

• Previous youth discipleship experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game fundamentals.
• Help promote and reinforce consistent coaching philosophies and continuity with the Head Coach.
• Support the Head Coach in communicating the program’s Christ-centered philosophies and vision to parents and the extended school family.
• Instruct CVCS athletes to develop their skills and motivation to continually improve.
• Support coaching during games, including warm-ups, in-game strategy, and player management.
• Assist with equipment setup, field preparation, and cleanup.
• Build relationships with young women and invest in their lives, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ through the coach’s example.
• Attend off-season activities as available.
