About The Position

The Pendleton School District 16R is seeking an Assistant Track Coach. This role requires an individual with high ethical and professional standards, knowledge of various techniques and strategies for teaching and coaching Track, and an understanding of team dynamics at the high school level. The coach will serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes and must be able to work collaboratively within the school-wide athletic program. Proven experience coaching or playing Track at a high level is necessary, along with the ability to coach athletes of all skill levels. A working knowledge of high school Track operations and a strong commitment to the academic growth and character of student-athletes are essential. Good communication and organizational skills are also required.

Requirements

  • High ethical and professional standards.
  • Knowledge of a variety of techniques and strategies to teach and coach Track.
  • Knowledge of team dynamics at the high school level.
  • Proven experience coaching Track and/or playing at a high level.
  • Demonstrate the ability to coach all levels of high school athletes.
  • Working knowledge of high school Track operations.
  • Strong commitment to the academic growth and character of the student athlete.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • NFHS Certification prior to employment.
  • First Aid Card (CPR and AED trained) prior to employment.
  • District Fingerprinting/Criminal check prior to employment.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen prior to employment.
  • Completion of OSAA Concussion Test prior to employment.
  • Completion of OSAA Steroid Test prior to employment.
  • Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork prior to employment.
  • Safe Schools Completion of Interrupting and Preventing Discriminatory Acts Training prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and coach Track using a variety of techniques and strategies.
  • Serve as an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes.
  • Work in a cooperative and harmonious manner as part of a school-wide athletic program.
  • Coach all levels of high school athletes.
  • Contribute to the academic growth and character development of student-athletes.
