Assistant Toddler Teacher
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Assistant Toddler Teacher at its Nyack center. The role works side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home for children in care, following NAEYC guidelines. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and classroom experience is not required. The assistant helps maintain a safe, warm, clean environment where children can grow and explore; supports classroom instruction and activities; and communicates with parents or guardians about their child. The position involves the safety and supervision of children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
- Decorate classrooms inside and outside as needed.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
- Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about their child.
