About The Position

Employee performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, clerical, financial and other duties to support the operations of the office. This role involves extensive customer service, data entry and manipulation, report generation, processing various student-related documents, and assisting the counseling department. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, with a preference for experience in a school environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in administrative, clerical, financial or secretarial work, preferably in a school environment
  • Knowledge of department regulations, policies, programs and operations
  • Knowledge of office management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of computer systems, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software such as Aspen, Google and SCOIR
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with the public, officials and department personnel
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
  • Ability to establish and maintain a record keeping systems
  • Ability to operate a telephone and standard office equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner
  • Ability to deal tactfully with disgruntled people

Responsibilities

  • Provides extensive customer service in person, via email and telephone; answers questions, troubleshoots a range of department related issues
  • Performs data entry and manipulation for a variety of programs, primarily in SCOIR software
  • Uploads forms, transcripts and application results into SCOIR
  • Generates reports
  • Collects, compiles and performs data entry for annual school profile
  • Processes grade changes and update grade point average as needed
  • Assists in the processing of work permits
  • Assists with education verification of former students
  • Conducts monthly billing of transcript requests
  • Assists in organizing, managing and maintaining the cumulative record files
  • Assists in processing of transcript requests
  • Enters prior coursework for students transferring into LHS
  • Assists the counseling department in variety of ways including troubleshooting systems
  • Participates in special projects
  • Performs a variety of related duties
  • Other duties as assigned
