About The Position

AIRE Ancient Baths is hiring an Assistant Therapist Manager for its Upper East Side location in New York City. The role leads therapists and Links during each shift, promoting service excellence, continuous improvement, skill development, and adherence to operational and people standards. The Assistant Therapist Manager supervises 10–15 Therapists and Links per shift and, when the Department Manager is absent, assumes daily leadership of the department to maintain operational continuity and team alignment. The position also performs Manager on Duty duties when required. This role coordinates treatment-room and Bath Area operations, manages shift staffing and schedules, supports team development and performance, and helps maintain quality and inventory standards. It requires 1–2 years of team leadership experience in a spa, wellness, fitness, or hospitality setting, exposure to health and safety compliance and incident reporting, and availability for nights and weekends.

Requirements

1–2 years leading teams of massage therapists or wellness practitioners in a spa/wellness, fitness, or hospitality environment.
Exposure to health and safety compliance, incident reporting, and cross-department coordination.
Experience with coaching, one-to-ones, onboarding programs, and performance evaluations.
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to maintain company standards of luxury, glamour, warmth, energy, and accommodation.
Night and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Create and adjust Therapist and Links schedules during shifts, including role assignments, real-time changes, absences, and clock corrections according to SOP.
Coordinate Therapists with the Bath Area to ensure services start on time, rooms are prepared, and the guest journey flows smoothly.
Lead AM and PM briefings to review goals, staffing, risks, and action plans, and document key notes in the company system.
Conduct daily operational checks of treatment rooms, bath readiness, grooming standards, and consumables, and complete detailed end-of-shift handovers.
Communicate operational updates promptly with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Facilities, and Bath Area leaders.
Lead the department in the Department Manager’s absence and perform Manager on Duty duties when required.
Lead the team during incidents or emergencies, making decisions calmly, communicating clearly, and following protocols.
Supervise 10–15 Therapists and Links per shift, setting expectations, assigning roles, and maintaining service standards.
Manage daily team performance through immediate feedback, minor conflict resolution, attendance monitoring, and escalation of concerns when needed.
Lead weekly Links meetings to improve communication, alignment, and engagement.
Support team development through structured one-to-ones, onboarding guidance, and refresher or complaint-related training when required.
Review and validate payroll information, including worked hours and attendance records, before submission.
Assist with performance evaluations and provide fair assessments and clear development plans for assigned team members.
Monitor inventory and storage organization weekly and monthly.
Manage orders according to internal approval procedures and coordinate deliveries.
