About The Position
Community Services for Children is hiring an Assistant Therapeutic Classroom Teacher for the Early Head Start program. This role involves implementing a leading-edge therapeutic program designed to mitigate the effects of maltreatment in children impacted by drug and alcohol exposure. The position is with a large, well-established organization focused on early childhood education and supporting high-risk infants, toddlers, and their families.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Experience working with infants and toddlers (Birth to 2 years of age).
- Must have Infant/Toddler CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, or earn within two years of initial employment.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish) a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist Therapeutic Teacher in planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment in assigned classroom, including serving nutritional meals for children.
- Plan with and assist the Therapeutic Teacher in preparing learning materials for activities appropriate for infant and toddler children.
- Accompany bus drivers during transportation to ensure the safety of all children.
- Ensure the daily care of every enrolled child by following all program regulations and guidelines.
- Perform other duties assigned by Therapeutic Teacher.
