About The Position

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking a caring and dependable Teacher Assistant to support their Early Head Start classrooms serving children ages 8 weeks to 3 years. This part-time position is ideal for someone with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential who desires a consistent weekday schedule while making a lasting impact during a child's most important developmental years. The role involves supporting teachers, assisting in classrooms, maintaining safe ratios and routines, engaging children in age-appropriate activities, and fostering their social, emotional, and developmental growth. The position also requires building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers, and assisting with daily care routines.

Requirements

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Experience working with infants and/or toddlers in a licensed childcare or classroom setting
Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist where needed
Caring, patient, and team-oriented approach
Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check

Responsibilities

Support teachers during lunch coverage and classroom transitions
Assist in infant, toddler, and twos classrooms as needed
Help maintain safe classroom ratios and daily routines
Engage children in age-appropriate learning and play activities
Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth
Help maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment
Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
Assist with daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, and classroom activities
