About The Position

The Assistant Technical Director reports to the Technical Director and plays a key role in the performance and evolution of the Technical Design department. This strategic and operational role involves coordinating activities, supporting teams, and actively contributing to process excellence and product development. The position fosters collaboration within the innovation triangle of design, purchasing, and manufacturing, guiding teams toward high standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in apparel product development
  • Significant experience in team management or leadership
  • Strong technical expertise in garment construction, fit, quality, and manufacturing
  • Inspiring leadership and strong collaboration skills
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of commercial/business challenges
  • Proficiency in PLM systems
  • Bilingual in French and English, to communicate with all stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate department activities
  • Ensure optimal use of resources and adherence to timelines
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Ensure continuity of operations in the absence of the Technical Director
  • Contribute to talent development and strengthen team engagement
  • Participate in performance evaluations and development plans
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement-oriented environment
  • Contribute to elevating standards of quality, fit, and finishing
  • Work closely with design, purchasing, and manufacturing teams
  • Support the development of high-performing, commercially relevant products
  • Contribute to reducing product development cycle time
  • Contribute to optimizing processes and ways of working
  • Participate in key strategic projects
  • Monitor technological and competitive trends
  • Support the evolution of practices toward greater agility and performance
