Assistant Team Lead (Packing room)

About The Position

Coordinating and preparing work aligned with the supply and demand plan and production schedule. This role involves inspecting raw materials, verifying product labeling, weighing, packing, and labeling candy products. You will also be responsible for documenting completed work orders, recording finished goods build data, and performing routine inventory audits. The position requires operating a forklift and adhering to all Cargill safety rules and regulations. Use of scanners and computers is necessary, as is maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You will interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement and collaborate during high volume peaks with different departments. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production warehouse facility
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or light industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Forklift experience operating both sit down and stand-up forklifts as well as electric hand jacks
  • High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience in a production environment
  • Experience in a food manufacturing production environment

Responsibilities
