Colorado State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Theatre in the areas of Performance/Directing, starting Fall 2026. This is a 9-month, continuing, non-tenure-track position. The Assistant Teaching Professor’s responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate performance courses, at multiple levels, in acting, directing, playwriting, and dramaturgy, as well as additional courses that support the broader theatre curriculum and align with the candidate’s specific teaching strengths and professional expertise. The successful candidate will direct or support productions in our main stage season and advise and mentor students for productions. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and a developing practice in research/creative artistry. Candidates will be expected to collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues, staff, and students in the creation of artistic work. Candidates will be expected to participate in the department’s shared governance, support curriculum development, recruit and mentor theatre students, contribute to the operation and development of an active production season, and advance the reputation and visibility of the University regionally, nationally, and/or internationally.
