About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking two (2) part-time Assistant Teaching Professors in Licensure Programs to join their College of Education. This role involves teaching graduate licensure courses, primarily online with opportunities for in-person instruction in local school district partnership cohorts. The position also includes service responsibilities to support licensure programs, the department, college, and university. UCCS is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, offering a vibrant community with stunning landscapes and a growing tech scene.

Requirements

  • MA in educational leadership or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Principal license preparation from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Professional, full-time experience in the principalship or school-level leadership.
  • Ability to perform essential functions and meet physical and environmental demands.
  • Completion of an Authorization to Release Information for misconduct history check.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Experience working in district-level leadership.
  • Expertise in school building level leadership.
  • Expertise in public K-12 education finance, human resources, and legal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching four courses per academic year in the Principal License or Administrator License programs.
  • Utilizing a variety of pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning, including technology, theory-to-practice connections, student engagement, and experiential education.
  • Demonstrating commitment to expanding educational access, opportunity, and excellence for diverse learners.
  • Collaborating with department faculty to create and maintain partnerships with school districts and statewide education leaders.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of innovative marketing and recruitment strategies.
  • Providing academic advising to prospective and current students.
  • Attending annual regional and state-wide meetings.
  • Assisting in the coordination of annual mock interviews.
  • Contributing to bi-annual meetings of the Education Collaborative Leadership Group (ECLG).
  • Participating in monthly department meetings.
  • Serving on relevant university-level leadership opportunities when available.
