About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor to join the Department of Computer Science within the College of Engineering and Applied Science. This position will involve teaching undergraduate courses, potentially including cross-listed courses, in areas such as cybersecurity and computer science. The role also includes developing new courses, advising undergraduate majors, and participating in college and departmental committees. Additional responsibilities may involve guiding students in independent studies and developing/teaching online courses. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field at the time of appointment.
  • Experience teaching at least one course as a teaching assistant, instructor of record, or the equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Experience teaching one or more relevant CS courses at the post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses, possibly including cross-listed courses, in cybersecurity and computer science.
  • Develop new courses in computer science.
  • Advise undergraduate majors.
  • Participate in College and Departmental committees and meetings.
  • Other activities as assigned by the Chair of the Computer Science Department.
  • Guide undergraduate students in independent studies.
  • Develop and teach online courses.
