Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Goddard School is seeking an experienced, full-time Assistant Teacher to work with two- and three-year-old students from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The school describes itself as a 5-Star Quality First, Cognia-accredited, Cognia-STEM school and a Best Private School in the West Valley. It provides an early childhood learning environment in state-of-the-art facilities, focused on helping children develop into joyful, confident learners prepared for school and life. Assistant Teachers help provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment; support children's social and emotional development; build positive relationships with families; and work with the lead teacher and the broader faculty. Teachers receive support from directors, including planning or resource time, and the school states that it maintains classroom ratios and provides resources for success. The school offers professional development through Goddard Systems University, which is accredited by IACET to provide Continuing Education Units, and a pathway to earn a CDA credential. Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Show empathy and compassion for young children.
- Be dependable and adaptable, and enjoy working together toward a common goal.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children for program facilitation, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children.
