About The Position
The Gardner School of Minnetonka is seeking passionate and energetic Assistant Teachers to join their team. TGS is a premier preschool with state-of-the-art classrooms and a dynamic curriculum, aiming to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where children become confident, joyful learners. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years
- Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude
- Meets all Minnesota state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
- Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
- Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies.
- Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
- Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
- Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Minnesota state licensing regulations
- Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
- Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum
- Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Engage with children during learning, play, and transitions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom
