About The Position

The Learning Experience - Manassas City is hiring an experienced Assistant Teacher to support early childhood classrooms and help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. The role involves supporting Lead Teachers and helping young children learn, play, and grow through daily classroom experiences. The Assistant Teacher works with children through stories, music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning; supports classroom routines and care needs; and helps maintain an organized, welcoming classroom. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in Manassas City, Virginia. Pay is $16.00-$18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom experience is required.
Experience supporting classroom routines and supervising young children.
Patient, dependable, nurturing, and team-oriented.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must meet applicable Virginia childcare licensing, background screening, and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and transitions.
Support implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
Engage children through stories, music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
Support meals, rest time, toileting, and daily care routines as appropriate.
Use positive guidance to encourage independence and appropriate behavior.
Maintain active supervision and required classroom ratios.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow teachers.
Follow Virginia childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
