About The Position

The Learning Experience – Bushwick is hiring Assistant Teachers to support our early childhood classrooms and help provide consistency through our afternoon and closing hours. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and prefers a later morning start. You'll work alongside Lead Teachers and provide support across classrooms as needed, helping ensure children have a safe, engaging, and positive experience from classroom activities through end-of-day pick-up.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Comfortable providing support across different classrooms
Reliable and consistently available for the 10:00 AM–6:30 PM closing schedule
Patient, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented
Must meet applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred

Responsibilities

Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
Provide classroom and ratio coverage where needed
Work with children across different early childhood age groups
Engage children in play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
Support afternoon routines and create a welcoming experience for families at pick-up
Help with end-of-day classroom organization and closing procedures
Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
Follow applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements
