About The Position

The Learning Experience – Bushwick is hiring Assistant Teachers to support our early childhood classrooms and help provide consistency through our afternoon and closing hours. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and prefers a later morning start. You'll work alongside Lead Teachers and provide support across classrooms as needed, helping ensure children have a safe, engaging, and positive experience from classroom activities through end-of-day pick-up.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred
• Comfortable providing support across different classrooms
• Reliable and consistently available for the 10:00 AM–6:30 PM closing schedule
• Patient, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented
• Must meet applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage where needed
• Work with children across different early childhood age groups
• Engage children in play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
• Support afternoon routines and create a welcoming experience for families at pick-up
• Help with end-of-day classroom organization and closing procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
• Follow applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements
