Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Guidepost Montessori is hiring an Assistant Teacher (also described as an Assistant Guide) for its school at Legacy in Plano. The role supports a mixed-age Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers, and children ages 3–6. The Assistant Teacher helps create a calm, engaging, orderly environment where children can explore and learn at their own pace, and supports their independence, confidence, and love of learning. The position involves preparing intentional learning spaces and assisting with individualized and small-group activities. The Assistant Teacher works respectfully and patiently with children, builds relationships with families, and collaborates with Lead Guides and other team members. Montessori experience is welcome but not required; the role offers training and mentorship for professional growth.
Requirements
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a school or childcare setting.
- A positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
- A genuine love for working with young children.
- Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach.

- Prior Montessori experience.
