About The Position
The Learning Experience – Jenison is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms throughout the day while helping maintain a smooth and organized closing routine each evening. This role supports children across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms while ensuring a safe and positive end-of-day experience for families and staff. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with multiple age groups and supporting classroom transitions later in the day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Comfortable supporting multiple age groups
- Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities
- Support afternoon transitions, playground time, and dismissal routines
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Provide classroom coverage as needed across age groups
- Support Lead Teachers with classroom preparation and activities
- Communicate professionally with families during pickup times
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies
