About The Position

The Assistant Teacher works with children in infant and toddler age groups, including 6–12 months and 12–18 months, alongside teammates to support their growth and development. The role focuses on providing a warm, safe, nurturing environment and helping children learn through play, music, movement, stories, and hands-on activities. It also involves supporting daily care routines, communicating with parents, and collaborating with a creative, teamwork-oriented staff.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have experience in childcare.
• Hold CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing to obtain them.
• For the lead qualification, meet one of these criteria: hold a bachelor's or associate degree in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development; hold a Child Development Associate Credential; or have a high school diploma or GED and 1,500 verified hours of experience in organized group activities for young children.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an early childhood setting.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework, an associate degree or higher, or comparable work history.
• Three or more years of classroom management experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for toddlers aged 12–18 months.
• Plan and lead engaging activities that support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Guide infants in exploring through music, movement, stories, and hands-on play.
• Support mealtime, diapering, and nap-time routines with kindness and care.
• Build strong relationships with parents and provide daily updates.
• Collaborate with teammates to support children's growth and education.
