About The Position

This position involves assisting a Supervising Teacher and Principal in improving students' skills across all academic areas. The role requires promoting a positive image of the school district, maintaining student records, and attending parent-teacher conferences as directed. The Assistant Teacher is expected to exhibit high expectations for themselves and their students, participate in professional development for continued growth, and adhere to all safety procedures to ensure student well-being. Punctual and regular attendance is required, along with timely notification of any absences. Active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments, and maintaining the confidentiality of student information are crucial. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or principal, and requires regular in-person attendance.

Requirements

  • Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
  • Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment.
  • WorkKeys Test – Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment.
  • WorkKeys Test – Applied Mathematics score of 4, Graphic Literacy score of 4 and Workplace Documents subtests score of 4.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps records as directed by the teacher.
  • Attends parent-teacher conferences as directed by the teacher.
  • Exhibits high expectations for self and students.
  • Demonstrates continued growth by participation in professional development activities.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well-being of all students.
  • Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
  • Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the teacher and/or principal.
  • Regular in person attendance.
