About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher at BrightPath Kids, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in care, according to NAEYC guidelines. You will help ensure children’s safety and supervision, assist with classroom instruction, maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment, encourage children’s participation in activities, decorate classrooms as needed, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided for candidates without classroom experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
