About The Position

Innovation & Exploration STEM Early Learning Center (IE) is seeking an energetic Assistant Teacher to join their team. The center's mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and loving environment for children to develop their strengths and find the joy of learning through a STEM-based curriculum. IE aims to instill confidence, self-worth, and morals in every child, balancing their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual well-being. The Assistant Teacher will support the head teacher in planning and implementing whole-classroom and small-group instruction, demonstrating a passion for learning and a love for working with children. Strong creative and organizational skills are essential for connecting with individual students and developing relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
A year of previous teaching assistant experience preferred
High-energy with a love of working with children
Organized and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers
Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, schoolyards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips
Provide extra assistance to students with special needs
Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress
Teach social skills to students
