About The Position

The Gardner School of Franklin is seeking passionate and energetic Assistant Teachers to join their team. This role involves positively impacting children's lives and contributing to early childhood education. The Gardner School offers a supportive and fun workplace with state-of-the-art classrooms and a dynamic curriculum, aiming to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where children can become confident learners. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Meets all Tennessee state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
  • Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
  • Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
  • Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies.
  • Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
  • Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
  • Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Tennessee state licensing regulations
  • Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
  • Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years (preferred)
  • Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum
  • Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
  • Engage with children during learning, play, and transitions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom

  • Competitive Pay: $15.25-$19.00 per hour (based on experience, education, and credentials)
  • $500 Sign-On Bonus: $250 will be paid after 30 days of active employment, and $250 will be paid after 90 days of active employment (eligibility and participation rules apply).
