About The Position

The Assistant Teacher supports the Pre-K classroom by helping maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment; supporting children’s social and emotional development; building positive relationships with families; and working with the lead teacher and the rest of the faculty. The role is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The school describes its learning environment as supportive and fun, with director support, planning or resource time, maintained classroom ratios, and resources for classroom success. The position offers a stated compensation range of $15.75–$16.00 per hour. Benefits and programs may vary by school location because each school is privately owned and operated.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Show empathy and compassion for young children.
Be dependable and adaptable, and enjoy working toward a common goal with others.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with handling children, facilitating programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

An associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with children is welcomed.
