About The Position

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join their team. This full-time position involves assisting the Head Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, creating a stimulating environment, encouraging parent involvement, setting individual goals, recording observations, maintaining classroom cleanliness, and assisting with toileting and other classroom duties. The role requires a warm, caring, and outgoing personality, the ability to work well with others, and to create and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Requirements

  • Files incident or accident reports accordingly and as needed.
  • Notifies parents and director when children are sick or get hurt.
  • Uses bleach solutions to clean toys and surfaces as required.
  • Uses the Germ Box effectively.
  • Follows the diaper changing / potty procedures for children accordingly and as needed.
  • Follows the When to Wash Hand policies as posted in the classroom.
  • Follows the hand washing procedures accordingly.
  • Inspects outdoor and indoor play areas prior to play.
