About The Position

Delivers and picks up merchandise to multiple customers on a daily basis by safely operating a delivery truck and handling our merchandise. Wilbert’s is a family owned and operated automotive recycling company based out of Webster NY since 1952. We are proud to serve the community with the most premium recycled automotive parts in the area. We are looking to add outgoing, honest and respectful individuals to our growing family. Previous experience is a benefit but is not required. New members will be provided with the proper training and equipment to do the job at task. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
  • For insurance purposes you must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a delivery truck to ensure safe delivery of merchandise and parts to a variety of customers on a daily basis.
  • Loads and unloads merchandise and automobile parts onto truck, responsible for proper securing during transit and ensures all items are handled properly and delivered undamaged.
  • Inspects all merchandise and ensures it matches with the delivery ticket description including correct side, STK#’s, and options; demonstrates an understanding of the Hollander parts numbering system.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) damage codes as it relates to inspecting merchandise and maintaining quality control.
  • Inspects delivery vehicle in accordance with the Pre-trip Checklist and reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Provides excellent customer service by serving as the face of the company to customers; hands out marketing material to each customer highlighting the services the company offers that they may be interested in.
  • Tags or labels all merchandise for return, purchase or repair as to their origin with a reason for return or service needed with proper paperwork attached.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork as outlined in the operating procedures for the position.
  • Follows all company safety policies and procedures while operating equipment without causing damage or harm to people, property or equipment.
  • Utilizes handheld tablet for parts deliveries and turn-by-turn directions while following DMV laws.
  • May be required to operate certain types of forklifts or heavy machinery with appropriate license.
