About The Position

Middletown Christian Early Learning Center is seeking an assistant teacher for its 3-year-old class. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children and be available Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This is a part-time, year-round position. The role requires adherence to State of Ohio licensing rules and ELC policies, maintaining communication with parents, and pursuing professional development. The assistant teacher must be willing to work with any age group within the ELC (6 weeks to 5 years) when necessary. A strong spiritual maturity is also required, including professing faith in Jesus Christ, actively engaging in church life, believing and supporting the school's statement of faith, and agreeing to abide by the Lifestyle Statement.

Requirements

• Must enjoy working with young children.
• Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
• Must be trained within 90 days of hire in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to work well with others (staff, child, parents) and to foster a team environment.
• High School Diploma is a must.
• Be able to lift 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Childcare experience.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) training is encouraged at some point.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing the program.
• Maintain communication with parents.
• Adhere to State of Ohio licensing rules as well as ELC policies.
• Maintain personal professional development which includes 10 clock hours in specialized training.
• Be willing to work with any age in the ELC (6 weeks to 5 years) when needed.
