About The Position

The Assistant Teacher assists in improving students’ skills in all academic areas as directed by the teacher. This role promotes a positive image of the school district program to the public, keeps records as directed, and attends parent-teacher conferences. The Assistant Teacher exhibits high expectations for self and students, demonstrates continued growth through professional development, and adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure student well-being. Regular and punctual attendance is required, along with timely notification of any impending absence. The position involves active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments and maintaining the confidentiality of all student information. Other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or principal are also part of this role. Regular in-person attendance is expected.

Requirements

  • Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
  • Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment.
  • WorkKeys Test – Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment.
  • WorkKeys Test – Applied Mathematics score of 4, Graphic Literacy score of 4 and Workplace Documents subtests score of 4.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the teacher and/or principal.
  • Regular in person attendance.
