About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside the Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. You will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. You will also serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and part of a collaborative teaching team focused on engaging, nurturing, safe, and enjoyable early childhood education.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Demonstrate genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Have the physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare center.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for a Toddler or Preschool classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation, including attendance and daily reports.
