Assistant Teacher (Part Time) / Breaker
About The Position
The Assistant Teacher is a part-time position with duties both indoors and outdoors. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for a group of children that may include infants, toddlers, preschool or Kindergarten age children. The Assistant Teacher must be available to attend staff meeting, trainings, evaluations, and orientations, fulfill the annual 15 clock hours of continuing education, and participate in parent conferences and/or prepare written parent reports. The Assistant Teacher will plan and execute a program for families at least once a year and/or participate in the annual open house.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED).
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a program for families at least once a year and/or participate in the annual open house.
- Work with a Lead Teacher and together as a team plan age-appropriate activities: music/ movement activities; art/ craft projects; language; math; and science experiences.
- Implement a variety of supervised activities for the children in a relaxed but organized atmosphere.
- Utilize all available resources of Little People Playtime and its staff to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of services.
- Carry out the established policies of Little People Playtime.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of all information received in connection with this position.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, evaluations, and orientations.
- Fulfill the annual 15 clock hours of continuing education.
- Participate in parent conferences and/or prepare written parent reports.
