About The Position

This position implements program activities under the direct supervision of Lead Teacher(s) and assists the Lead Teachers in providing developmentally appropriate care and early education to children of Staff, Faculty, and Students of the University. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Conducting programs and activities that implement the emergent curriculum of the classroom. Developing and maintaining mutually supportive relationships with individual parents that enable both parents and teaching staff to meet each child’s individual needs. Monitor and Support each child’s individual development.

Requirements

CDA or equivalent or, Associate degree or higher in any field or, 60 hours of college-level coursework in any field
Interest in working in an environment with young children is required
Must have strong relationship and communication skills
Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
Communicate effectively and respectfully to children, families and colleagues
Show flexibility and open mindedness
Basic computer/technology experience required

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a high-quality early childhood program preferred
