Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services for over 125 years, offering more than 160 programs for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those with mental illness. Our Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services to low-income families, serving children aged 3 to 5 years old. Utilizing the Montessori approach, the center ensures children are school-ready through developmentally appropriate activities that foster cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy, and physical development. The Head Start Assistant Teacher will support the Teacher in planning and implementing age and developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the Montessori curriculum. Key responsibilities include assisting with record-keeping and reporting to meet compliance standards of various agencies, facilitating parent involvement, and promoting positive growth and professional development. The candidate must adhere to established policies and procedures and maintain attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality standards.
