The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the lead teacher and children in the classroom. The role requires adherence to the GSRP implementation manual, compliance with licensing requirements, and prioritizing children's safety. The Assistant Teacher should have a basic understanding of Relationship-Based Care (RBC) principles, meet expectations outlined in Commitment To My Co-workers, and support RBC unit action plans. This role involves responding to the needs, questions, and concerns of parents and children effectively and in a timely manner. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the daily planning and execution of all classroom and outdoor activities for the group, preparing weekly lesson plans with copies posted in the classroom for parents and submitted to the Coordinator. Responsibilities include supervision during meal times, toileting procedures, and inside and outside activities for children. Attendance at all staff meetings, parent conferences (as needed), and ongoing training is required. The role also includes cleaning and organizing the center as needed and ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of children in the assigned group.
