Assistant Teachers work collaboratively with the Classroom Teacher in all day-to-day aspects of classroom management, including teaching, assisting students, grading papers, organizing classroom activities, clerical duties, and attending parent conferences. Additional involvement may include parent communication, curricular planning, consulting with other faculty, or contributing to student evaluation and documentation, as welcomed or deemed appropriate by the Classroom Teacher. This role is a one-year commitment, with opportunities for renewal based on teacher recommendation and appointment by the Head of Lower or Intermediate School. Assistant Teachers participate in professional development activities throughout the school year.
