Assistant Swim Coach
About The Position
To assist the head swim coach in organization, coaching, and supervision for the Shawnee Family YMCA youth swim team. The Assistant Coach is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, positive, and competitive swimming program that promotes youth development, healthy living, sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual swimmer development. The Assistant Coach receives direction, instruction and intent from the Head Coach and works to ensure the daily tasks are aligned with program goals and intent set by the Head Coach and to also ensure that program participants are mentored and coached per the Head Coaches instruction, direction and intent.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold all required certifications prior to being scheduled to work.
- Must possess the leadership skills, communication ability, swimming knowledge, organizational ability, physical ability, and judgment required to successfully manage the scope of duties.
