About The Position

The Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for helping to develop and leading a safe, fun, and competitive swim program for student-athletes. The coach will help plan practices, teach swimming techniques, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and manage team participation in meets.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a swim coach or competitive swimmer preferred.
• Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and safety procedures.
• Ability to motivate and positively influence high school students.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must pass background checks as required by the school or district.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct regular swim practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and team strategy.
• Teach proper swimming techniques, safety protocols, and rules of the sport.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that promotes respect, effort, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise students during practices, meets, and team events.
• Coordinate and attend swim meets, including handling entries and team logistics.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff.
• Ensure compliance with school and athletic department policies.
