About The Position

Join the coaching staff for a fun, competitive summer swim season. Assistant Coaches work on deck with swimmers of all ages and abilities, teaching technique, running practices, and supporting athletes at meets. The role reports to the Lead Assistant Coaches and Head Coach/Aquatics Director.

The season runs March 4 through June 30, 2027. The schedule includes pre-season practices beginning April 12 and summer morning and evening practices. Attendance at all assigned practices and required events is a condition of employment. Required events include Coaches Orientation, Time Trials, dual meets, Bye Week Bash, the Championship Meet at Georgia Tech, and the End of Season Banquet.

Requirements

• Competitive swimming background.
• Strong knowledge of competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes.
• Positive, dependable, and able to connect with children and teens.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain them before the season.

Nice To Haves

• Coaching, teaching, or youth experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach assigned groups using workouts provided by the Lead Assistant Coaches.
• Teach strokes, starts, turns, and finishes with clear, positive feedback.
• Actively supervise swimmers and help keep practices safe and organized.
• Support swimmers at meets with warm-ups, race preparation, and event check-in.
• Help build a welcoming, high-energy team culture through games, relays, and recognition.
• Promptly report injuries, safety issues, and swimmer concerns to lead staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
