Looking for a motivated, skilled Assistant Supervisor to join the Facilities Management FSS-Moves department on the Oklahoma State University campus! This position will supervise the moves, recycling, special event setup, and surplus needs for campus. These may be emergency, urgent, planned, or routine work orders. The employee will plan work schedules & assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively & to respond to fluctuating workloads. Assist supervisor with research, purchasing & maintaining all moving, recycling & special event equipment such as lifts, jacks, tables, chairs & staging, etc. Provide technical guidance and assistance to the department in all aspects of fabrication, installation, maintenance, and service. This position will be expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness for the Facilities Support Services crew. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management; therefore, you are essential personnel, requiring you to come into work regardless of the weather conditions. Some irregular and extra hours are needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions. This may require work during non-business hours, which includes evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and when the University is closed. This work involves regular exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous working conditions, both indoors and out, such as extreme temperatures, moving machinery, electrical sources, potentially hazardous chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. The position requires regular physical exertion to complete tasks. Must be able to occasionally move about or remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally ascends/descends heights to accomplish work. Occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of equipment and supplies. Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a personal cell phone and will be required to be continually available both during and after normal working hours. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are not for personal use.
