About The Position

Supports Superintendent during all phases of construction projects, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, supervising sub-contractors and staff, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of construction management experience including a thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality
Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend drawings and specifications
Strong supervisory and resource coordination skills.
Track record of successfully executing projects on schedule and within budget.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong client relations, influencing skills and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Supervises and monitors work performance and productivity of subcontractors and craft workers to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are followed.
Coordinates and supervises the scheduling and activities for craft workers.
Ensures contractors are conforming to project specifications, codes, procedures, rules, and safety requirements.
Performs in-depth review of all contract documents to become familiar with all details, notes, and requirements.
Monitors job schedules and coordinates contractors’ work, suppliers’ deliveries and equipment need.
Monitors quality standards of all jobs, including contractor performance, and ensures that all quality assurance and company standards are being met.
Ensures that inspections are scheduled as appropriate.
Provides assistance in resolving day-to-day construction problems encountered.
Acts as a liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
Assists in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
Advises superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interference, and schedule difficulties; assists in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
Assists with obtaining required permits and licenses.
Tracks schedules and associated costs to achieve completion of project on time and within budget.
Monitors job safety and safety training; enforces safety programs and OSHA Standards.
Acts as liaison among owners, inspectors, staff and subcontractors.
Assists with preparation of written reports and/or updates (internal and external) for management, client, and project team, to ensure a clear understanding of project status.
Prepares and manages list of inspections; assists with preparation and management of project closeout requirements.
Administers financial tracking systems to monitor project costs and estimates.
