Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Emergency Management or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant field, project, or operational experience, including internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles supporting construction, emergency response, or large-scale operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Travel flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including, Excel.
  • Enrolled as a Junior or Senior in Emergency Management Bachelor degree program.
  • 2 plus years' experience in a Superintendent or similar role in field/disaster recovery and/or construction.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including, Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Superintendent with daily field coordination of crews, subcontractors, equipment, staging areas, disposal sites, and work zones.
  • Maintains schedules and site mapping based on Project Superintendent direction.
  • Facilitates procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures on-site, and coordinating various phases to prevent delays.
  • Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
  • Confers with Project Management and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve problems and improve methods.
  • Inspects work as to adherence to contract terms and schedules.
  • Prepares or reviews daily reports on progress, materials/labor, debris hauled, used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
