About The Position

We are seeking a polished and professional Assistant Superintendent with a minimum 2-3 years experience for the world-renowned River Course, designed by Tom Fazio, winner of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's Old Tom Morris Award, the highest recommendation of its sort. Armed with a $5 million operating budget, the exclusive Kiawah Island Club needs an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and has verifiable experience leading golf course maintenance crews. Candidates should be capable of calibrating fertilizer and chemical applications; developing and maintaining drainage, irrigation, and and watering systems; scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating all personnel assigned to department; and supervising all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities on the golf course. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems including pump stations, piping, and central controller operations is a must. The River Course provides a challenging and inspiring 7,039-yard test. Eight holes play along the Kiawah River and Bass Pond, with the other fairways and greens along marsh savannas, ponds, and oak-filled maritime forests. The River Course site, which extends a mile or so along the Kiawah River, was the location of the first English settlement on the Island in the 18th century. In 1999, it was fully certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Host of the prestigious 2023 US Amateur Four-Ball Championship, Kiawah Island Club the Toro LYNX irrigation software and controllers in addition to Toro GPS sprayers along with other top-of-the-line equipment.

Requirements
